This shoot was a complete group effort.
Caley Newberry, who was our photographer, reached out to me about working together on an inspiration shoot. Then I met Jennifer Oatsvall. She brought her amazing creativity and beautiful rentals to the table. Together we crafted this lovely shoot that luckily, Every Last Detail decided to feature!
We all love the 1920s and the unparalleled decadence that it brings to mind. From The Great Gatsby to Downtown Abbey and the Art Deco style, we decided to tip our fedora to a style that we love while challenging ourselves to make it different and relatable for today’s couples. We blended American prohibition with English tablescapes.
We aimed to showcase the softer side of the twenties: garlands, tassels, a flowy dress and an elegantly set table. We chose a rich color scheme of white, navy, and gold. The white linens added a crisp canvas for our vintage, English-inspired place settings while the navy napkins really popped the gold flatware.
We gave a nod to the prohibition speakeasy with a Bourbon Bar — an obvious Southern favorite — elegantly presented in vintage crystal decanters. We carried that influence to the tablescape and included a saucy shot glass at each place setting for guests to add a little nip to their English tea.
Keep an eye out for a post on my favorite feature - the posey bar!
Our shoot was really the epitome of what a wedding with great vendors will be — smooth and successful. We were lucky to work with friends and pull together something that we all loved. When a bride hires a team of vendors who are talented and also friends, she suddenly has a new layer of support because the vendor friends support each other and make her dreams come true!
