Corey and Lauryn's wedding was very special. They are dear friends and they were my first destination wedding! Lauryn also sang at my wedding - she has a gorgeous voice. And she has a great sense of style; they picked a lovely venue located between both of their families.
Why a destination wedding?
We chose Johnson City because it was almost exactly half way for both of our families to travel from our respective hometowns and kept our Nashville friends within driving distance. It also had sentimental value to us both because I was raised in the northern blue ridge mountains, Corey was raised in the southern part of the blue ridge, and Johnson City is nestled quietly in the middle of this fantastic mountain range. Lastly, it also kept us in TN which we LOVE and hope to call home for a very long time!
What did you love most about your wedding?
My favorite part about the wedding was the simplicity of it. We all stayed at the venue, so no one had to worry about running late or getting lost. There was just enough charm to the town that our guest found beautiful antique stores, hidden museums, and local restaurants to keep themselves occupied for the weekend. It was low key and relaxing and I like to think that people enjoyed themselves and had the opportunity to really invest in spending time with one another. I loved that our families had the weekend to bond!
