Be Patriotic: Independence Day Wedding Inspiration

Happy independence weekend! I hope everyone had a great fourth of July. We spent the day with our second family at a lake in Alabama. I love the lake, the river, any water and sun combo! Add this to my love of July 4th and fireworks, and it was perfect.

To continue the independence weekend, we're sharing some patriotic wedding inspiration!

Casual Patriotic Wedding Inspiration

Vintage wedding dresses can look chic next to a super modern take on the bridesmaid "dress" - like a romper! Just keep the bride's dress short!

Your invite is an area to really express your theme! Avoid cheesy and find a classy version like the one above. Then add a bit in your decor - like this rustic, hand painted American flag made from reclaimed lumber. It's also a great piece for after your wedding. A naked cake with berries - who doesn't love that?

Classy Patriotic Inspiration

Red bridesmaid dresses don't have to look dated! Choose a crisp, new look for the cut of the dress or pick a shade like cranberry. Here we've chosen flame next to the bride's dress that resembles the sparkle and shower of fireworks!

Keep the linens chic with satin, but consider choosing to mix in a fun item or two - such as the berry bags for escort cards.  A summery treat and table direction is a win, win!

Carry the berries through into a rich, red wine sangria! And this navy invitation suite is gorgeous.

Sparklers! It's the 4th! Have fun!
